What is Atlantis Music?
Atlantis is a free music discovery engine at atlantis.music. You search for a song you love, and it recommends artists you've likely never heard — matched on how the music actually sounds, not on what's popular. No account needed.
How does Atlantis find similar songs?
It finds songs based on musical features — timbre, rhythm, mood, and production — combined with music-theory (tempo, key, dynamics) and a cultural 'scene' layer that understands which musical world an artist belongs to. These signals are blended to rank every track in the catalog against your seed song.
How is this different from Spotify or Apple Music recommendations?
Streaming services use collaborative filtering: they recommend what listeners similar to you already played. That structurally favors music that is already popular. Atlantis uses no listening data at all — a song with 200 streams competes on exactly equal footing with one that has 2 million. That's why it surfaces artists you genuinely haven't heard.
Is Atlantis free?
Yes. The discovery engine is free, with no account, no ads, and no tracking cookies. Song previews stream directly from Apple's servers.
How does the playlist feature work?
After discovering from a seed song, you can turn the result into a 20-track playlist. Each track is chosen to match both the original song and everything picked before it, so the playlist flows like a human-made mix. On mobile, your swipe choices steer it: songs you kept anchor the playlist, songs you skipped are excluded.
Can I export playlists to Apple Music or Spotify?
Apple Music export is launching soon: it will let you create the playlist in your Apple Music library with one tap (you authorize with your own Apple account). For now, every track links to Apple Music and Spotify search.
Does Atlantis store my data?
Discovery needs no account, and there are no tracking cookies. (Artists can optionally create an account to claim their profile — that stores only what they enter.) Anonymous usage signals (like whether a recommendation got a thumbs-up) are used solely to improve recommendations. Details in the privacy policy (Datenschutzerklärung) linked in the footer.
